Skyscanner acquires London based Zoombu

The London based Zoombu was recently bought by the Edinburgh based travel company Skyscanner. Zoombu was founded in 2008 and specialized itself in linking up trains, buses and airline time tables. So the startup fits perfectly to the airline ticket-seller Skyscanner that is probably going to expand into other transport options in the future. After the acquisition both Zoombu founders, Alistair Hann and Rachel Armitage, are going to work at Skyscaner head office in Edinburgh.

Blog network Blogo was recently bought by Populis

Blogo, a blog network from the Italian online publisher Dada, was recently bougt by Populis for about 6 million Euro. Accordig to populis, the purchased blog network has over 250 bloggers who cover 70 niches spanning subjects for destinations like the UK, France, Spain, Italy and Brazil. The network generates around 100 million page views a month. The office of Blogo will probably stay in Milan and hopefully the majority of the international Blogo-team can also continue it’s work. Populis, the new owner of Blogo was founded in 2004 and is based in Dublin, Rome and Milan.

It’s official: Amazon is going to acquire LoveFilm

This morning LoveFilm has announced that Amazon is going to acquire the remaining shares. Specific terms have not been discloused yet. At the moment Amazon owns 42 % of LoveFilm. The company is also known as the european Netflix and was founded in 2003. In exchange for a monthly fee, the LoveFilm-users can watch films and play games from a library of over 70,000 titles. It’s not clear yet wether Amazon will rebrand the film-service or not.

Roughly 49% of DailyMotion are going to be sold to Orange

It was recently announced, that Orange is going to buy roughly 49% of the Paris based Dailymotion for 59 million Euro. Probably there will be a second stage of the transaction where Orange will then buy the rest of Dailymotion. The French youtube-type of service is, according to a previous investor, now profitable. The video-site has over 90 million users and was founded in 2005.

Video network “goviral” got just acquired by AOL Europe

Video network “goviral” got just acquired by AOL Europe

The branded video distribution network goviral, wich was originally started out of Copenhagen, was just bought by AOL Europe for $96,7 million. Goviral is now mainly based in London but has offices in many other European cities. The concrete purchase price was $74.1 million, with an additional $22.6 million in deferred compensation to be paid over 2 years. Goviral’s content distribution network allready includes over 18,000 publishers in 24 verticals and generates more than 60 million video views monthly. The video network was established in 2005, originally to provide seeding and tracking services for media agencies, ad agencies and advertisers.

French Marketshot recently bought Vozavi.com

French Marketshot recently bought Vozavi.com

Vozavi.com, a French consumer review aggregator wich was founded in 2006, was recently bought by the lead generation company Marketshot (we don’t know the purchase-price yet). Vozavi is aimed at consumers that search for advice before purchasing cars and high-tech products. This acquisition will enable Marketshot to increase its audience and therefore its ability to generate qualified leads. Marketshot is based in Paris and connects major advertisers, retailers and e-merchants from highly competitive industries with serious in-market consumers.
