Spanish startups local ecosystem forum

The Startup Olé event organised by the Startup Ole accelerator has served as a launching pad for a local Ecosystems forum for Spanish startups. This Spanish Startups’ Local Ecosystems Forum (SSLEF) was founded by the Startup Europe Ambassadors.

The goal of this forum, SSLEF, supported by the European Commission’s Startup Europe initiative, Spain Startup and Startup Olé Accelerator,is to be a network with the goal of boosting democratic participation and connecting local entrepreneurship ecosystems to large Spanish cities such as Madrid and Barcelona, which form a hub for local ecosystems in Spain.

The Concrete actions: The Forum will carry out three block of activities: block one is about sharing experiences (good practices) among the different local ecosystems, block two is about creating joint activities among two or three of the local ecosystems that belong to the Forum, block three to monitor the success and lessons learned from the joint activities of the block two as well as monitoring which good practices are been deployed in the different local ecosystems. You can see here in Annex the 10 Step Action Plan with the information about the three blocks

The first members of the forum are ten Spanish cities: Avilés, Burgos, Córdoba, Granada, Logroño, Málaga, Murcia, Salamanca, Seville and Valencia. The representatives of the local ecosystems come from many different backgrounds that include city councils in Córdoba, Granada, Málaga, and Seville, investors like Bal Partners (Murcia) and Ricari (Logroño), entrepreneurs such as Avilés, Ceei of Burgos and València Activa, and the Startup Olé accelerator for Salamanca.

Málaga, will host the first formal meeting of the forum, during Startup Europe international  ‘Smart Agrifood Summit’ on 20-22 June 2018. Members are already beginning to exchange best practices and strengths, in order to generate synergies between cities and actions to be discussed at this meeting.
